A new and exciting concept in short-term missions, designed primarily to equip churches to make the most of their cross cultural mission trip.
We are convinced that the term 'missionsurge' conveys accurately what happens on a short-term mission trip.
mission: a group of persons sent by a church to carry on religious work, esp. evangelisation in foreign lands, acts of kindness, demonstration of God’s love; often to establish schools, hospitals, strategic alliances with local churches, etc.; an establishment of missionaries serving cross-culturally, etc..
surge: a strong, wavelike, forward movement
Church Teams
Church teams are a group of people from one church that have a vision to see more involvement from their church in global mission. The team will go to serve alongside resident missionaries in cross-cultural ministry at an International Teams team location or with other missionaries known to the church. A church leader will train and travel with the team to ensure a good experience and care for all team members. The leader of the team will ensure the church's vision for the team is maximised through all stages of the venture.
As you serve alongside resident missionaries you will see that missionaries are "ordinary" Christians with a God-given passion to serve where they are.
Learn to trust God in new ways. When you are in an unfamiliar culture you lose your independence! Expand your vision of God's purposes for His world.
Desire to return home to your church to share with them the experience and encourage their involvement in missions too.
