End Slavery Team

Over 27 million people are enslaved today worldwide, more than at any time in human history. We must fight for an end to modern-day slavery.
The Current Situation in Australia
There is a growing awareness of modern-day slavery within the Australian community. In 2008, the Australian Government recognized the vital role of non-government organizations in identifying and supporting people who have been trafficked as well as raising community awareness of all forms of trafficking in Australia, by convening the first National Roundtable on People Trafficking.

What are we doing about it?
An Australian End Slavery Team
In line with our mission of helping churches help the poor and oppressed, we want to help churches help the trafficked and enslaved.
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?” Isaiah 58:6
International Teams is seeking to bring freedom to those trafficked and enslaved. We have a vision to see an increased response to human trafficking and slavery amongst churches and individuals in Australia.
We are growing a ministry to see the captives set free – physically, emotionally and spiritually. In Uganda we are involved in ministry to former child soldiers. In Athens we are reaching out to women who have been trafficked into prostitution.
In Australia we are developing an End Slavery team. We want to inform and educate individuals and churches about this issue, and empower them to help the oppressed. We want to train other organisations who are actively working with women rescued from a life of prostitution, to help set them free physically, spiritually and emotionally.
We want this ministry to grow! We’d love to see a team of people who have a heart for the trafficked and enslaved working together with our End Slavery Church Mission Consultant.
